Title
The Tetuan Portals Ketubah
Artist
Esther Newman-Cohen
Medium
Drawing - Giclee Print On Paper
Description
This bold captivating work is a facsimile of a Ketubah from Tetuan, Morocco, 1852, as interpreted by the artist. Again the theme is architectural. The portals symbolize the couple's entry into a new life. In the center a pair of lovebirds form part of the delicate pattern featuring vines and flowers which encompasses the wedding vows.
The text is in both Hebrew and English and is based on the traditional text.
The ketubah arrives by post in a cardboard tube. It is a giclee print of the original work which was drawn by hand.
