Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
This is an original work painted in watercolor on paper. In Israel the petunia is known as Amnon and Tamar. The heir-apparent to David's throne, Amnon, is best remembered for the rape of his half-sister Tamar, daughter of David with Maachah. However, the Israeli name of the flower derives not from the biblical story but from a love story written by the Israeli writer Abraham Mapu in his book "The Love of Zion" ["Ahavat Zion"].
