The Moroccan Floral Ketubah
Artist
Esther Newman-Cohen
Medium
Drawing - Giclee Print On Paper
Description
A Ketubah is a marriage contract used in Jewish wedding ceremonies. The background floral design of this Ketubah is inspired by a Moroccan Ketubah from the nineteenth century. The oriental portal shape represents the entrance of the couple into their new life together. A poetic perimeter design featuring flowering vines encompasses the wedding vows. Done meticulously in richly-colored inks, this Ketubah has an original, dramatic flair created by the contrast of black, orange, purple and green shades against the white purity of the Ketubah text. The intermediate panel contains traditional symbols of Jewish life together with the phrase "Good luck and happy omen!"
First you need to choose which Ketubah design you like (from the ones posted in this Ketubah Gallery). You have a choice of Ketubah texts which will appear with the Ketubah design you have selected. http://www.planetnana.co.il/ketubahmazaltov/texts.htm
The text can be in English or Hebrew or both.
The ketubah arrives by post in a cardboard tube. It is a giclee print of the original work which was drawn and written by hand.
